GCC-USA Summit In Riyadh: Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman And President Trump Discuss Regional Cooperation
The GCC-USA Summit, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Donald J. Trump, was held in Riyadh. The event began with photos and Quranic verses. He stated: "President Donald Trump of the United States of America, leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, Peace be upon you. On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, we extend a warm welcome to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and convey his greetings and best wishes for the success of this summit."

The 2017 summit with President Trump emphasized enhancing GCC security, combating terrorism, and boosting defense capabilities. It aimed at addressing threats and tackling regional challenges collectively. The focus was on ensuring stability and security in the region through cooperation.
The economic relationship between the GCC countries and the US remains crucial. Trade volume is expected to reach $120 billion in 2024. Both parties aim to strengthen economic ties further by exploring new sectors for mutual benefit, aligning with shared interests.
Efforts to de-escalate regional tensions were discussed, including ending the Gaza conflict and finding a solution to the Palestinian issue based on international resolutions. The Arab Peace Initiative remains central to these efforts, aiming for lasting peace in the region.
The Kingdom is committed to dialogue among Yemeni parties for a political resolution in Yemen. Additionally, efforts continue to resolve Sudan's crisis through the Jeddah platform, supported by Saudi Arabia and the US, aiming for a ceasefire.

The summit also addressed Syria's situation, supporting its sovereignty and stability. President Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria was praised as it could alleviate suffering and promote growth there.
Support for Lebanon's reforms was reiterated, emphasizing state control over weapons and safeguarding sovereignty. The ceasefire between Pakistan and India was welcomed as a step towards reducing tensions.
