GCC-STAT Report Reveals UAE's Social Cohesion And Economic Progress For Eid Al Etihad

The GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-STAT) recently released a report celebrating the UAE's achievements on its 54th Eid Al Etihad. The report highlighted the UAE's impressive social and economic progress, noting its top regional and seventh global ranking in social cohesion. This reflects the country's robust social framework.

The UAE has made significant strides in economic and strategic areas, launching initiatives like the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031. This aims to harness technology as a development driver. Additionally, long-term strategies for food and water security extend to 2036 and 2051.

UAE's Social and Economic Gains Highlighted

The UAE's economic plans are clear, starting with income diversification. The country is transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy and focusing on future-oriented sectors. Smart city developments are underway in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah, with plans extending to 2040.

In terms of competitiveness, the UAE ranks fifth globally for 2025. It leads in 223 indicators worldwide and is among the top five in 444 indicators. The nation also holds the tenth position globally in soft power and first place in entrepreneurship for four consecutive years.

The UAE has evolved from a smart government model to an AI-driven society. It ranks first globally in telecom infrastructure and second in AI readiness for 2025. The country completed its first government transaction using the "Digital Dirham," marking a regional milestone.

More than 90 percent of government services have been digitised, with the UAE leading globally in digital and technological skills. Sovereign wealth funds play a crucial role, acting as strategic instruments supporting long-term economic strength.

Energy Transition Initiatives

The UAE is investing heavily in renewable energy, allocating over AED600 billion through 2050. A national green hydrogen strategy aims to produce 15 million tonnes by then. The country ranks sixth globally in talent supporting this green transition.

The UAE is emerging as a space power regionally and internationally. The Hope Probe reached Mars as the Arab world's first mission to the Red Planet. Future projects include an asteroid belt exploration mission for 2028 and the ambitious Mars 2117 settlement project.

These initiatives underscore the UAE's commitment to innovation and sustainability across various sectors, ensuring continued growth and global leadership.
