GCC Secretary-General Calls On International Community To Address Israeli Aggression In Gaza
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has urged the global community to act swiftly against the severe Israeli aggression in Gaza. He highlighted that a year after Israeli military actions began, conditions in Gaza have deteriorated significantly. The humanitarian, security, and economic situations are worsening, demanding urgent international intervention.
Albudaiwi stressed the need for immediate measures to halt Israeli actions against Palestinians. He called for reducing military operations and lifting the blockade to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. "This necessitates immediate and decisive steps from the international community to put an end to the brutal Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, de-escalate military operations and lift the blockade, ensuring the provision of humanitarian aid and the opening of crossings to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people," he said.

The GCC Secretary-General reaffirmed that protecting civilians is crucial, especially those working in relief efforts who face significant dangers. He emphasized accountability for crimes against humanity and holding Israel responsible for its forces' violations against Palestinians. The GCC consistently supports accountability measures for these actions.
Albudaiwi reiterated GCC member states' unwavering support for Palestine. They remain committed to establishing an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. This stance aligns with both the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Secretary-General concluded by urging regional and international cooperation to secure a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. He emphasized providing essential support to Palestinians as a means to enhance regional stability and security. Such efforts are vital for achieving peace in this conflict-stricken area.
