GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi Highlights Advisory Body's Support For 59 Studies On Gulf Regulations And Projects

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, emphasised the significant contributions of the Supreme Council’s Advisory Body. Since its inception, it has supported 59 studies aimed at enhancing Gulf regulations and joint projects. This was highlighted during the first meeting of the Advisory Body in its 28th session, held recently in Kuwait with participation from its members.

Albudaiwi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait and President of the Supreme Council in its 45th session. He acknowledged Kuwait's continuous support in advancing Gulf cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, he appreciated Qatar's previous session leadership under Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for backing the General Secretariat and Gulf initiatives.

GCC Secretary-General Discusses Advisory Body's Contributions

Albudaiwi stressed the importance of strengthening the Advisory Body's role in implementing studies approved by the Supreme Council. He highlighted the necessity to develop working mechanisms that integrate efforts between the Advisory Body, ministerial committees, and the General Secretariat. This integration aims to enhance collaboration and effectiveness within GCC operations.

The General Secretariat is actively working to transform these approved studies into joint action plans. These plans are designed to align with the directives and aspirations of the Supreme Council while addressing GCC citizens' ambitions. The focus is on ensuring that these initiatives meet regional needs effectively.

The Advisory Body has been tasked with examining several critical topics as mandated by the Supreme Council at the Kuwait Summit. These include unifying Gulf efforts to tackle natural disasters, developing unified policies and legislation for artificial intelligence, and identifying barriers to service integration among GCC states.

Albudaiwi underscored that addressing these topics is vital for fostering regional cooperation and development. By focusing on these areas, the GCC aims to create a more cohesive and resilient framework for member states to operate within.

The ongoing efforts reflect a commitment to translating strategic studies into actionable plans that benefit all GCC countries. The collaborative approach seeks to ensure that regional challenges are met with unified strategies and solutions.
