GCC And Morocco Ministers Meet To Boost Cooperation And Advocate For Peace In Gaza

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, recently took part in a significant joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the Kingdom of Morocco. This pivotal gathering, aimed at fostering deeper ties and cooperation, was presided over by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who currently leads the Ministerial Council.

The discussions during the meeting were comprehensive, covering a range of topics crucial for both regions. A primary focus was on enhancing cooperation between the GCC states and Morocco, exploring avenues to strengthen their partnership further. The meeting also delved into pressing international issues, particularly the concerning developments in the Gaza Strip and Rafah City.

Amidst the discussions, a unanimous concern emerged regarding the escalating situation in Gaza Strip and Rafah City. The participants underscored the immediate need for a ceasefire and called for the establishment of humanitarian corridors. Such measures are deemed essential to facilitate the delivery of vital assistance, including food and medical aid, to those affected in the Gaza Strip.

In addition to addressing immediate humanitarian needs, the meeting also focused on long-term solutions. Participants discussed efforts to halt grave violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza Strip and Rafah City. There was a collective emphasis on supporting a peace process that respects the Palestinian people's rights to statehood, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This stance aligns with relevant international resolutions aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.
