GCC Ministerial Council Strongly Condemns Iranian Missile Attacks On Qatar's Sovereignty
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council convened its 49th extraordinary meeting in Doha, Qatar. Chaired by Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al Yahya, the meeting included key figures such as Saudi Arabia's Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and UAE's Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The council addressed recent Iranian missile attacks on Qatar, expressing strong condemnation and solidarity with Qatar.
The GCC Ministerial Council expressed deep regret over Iran's missile strikes on a Qatari military base. This act was deemed a severe violation of Qatar's sovereignty and international law. The council reaffirmed its support for Qatar's measures to safeguard its security and stability, emphasizing the importance of respecting state sovereignty and peaceful dispute resolution.

The council condemned ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, highlighting civilian casualties and military escalations. It called for an immediate ceasefire and urged international organizations to provide humanitarian aid. The council stressed the need for negotiations to halt violence and assist civilians, underscoring the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts.
Commending the Qatari Armed Forces' response to Iran's attack, the council emphasized that Qatar's security is integral to GCC stability. Any threat to a member state is considered a threat to all GCC countries. The council reiterated its rejection of any infringement on Qatar’s sovereignty or threats to its security.
The GCC welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire, urging an end to military operations. It praised Qatar’s mediation efforts in achieving this ceasefire, advocating for diplomacy as a means to resolve disputes. The council encouraged restraint to prevent war risks and promote negotiations for sustainable solutions.
The council acknowledged President Trump's success in brokering a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, urging him to pursue a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. It highlighted the GCC Vision for Regional Security, prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy as essential paths for overcoming crises and ensuring regional peace.
International Cooperation
Praising Oman’s role in U.S.-Iran nuclear talks, the council valued contributions from Qatar, the U.S., and other nations in de-escalating tensions. It stressed maintaining regional air, maritime, and waterway security against threats like commercial vessel attacks or oil facility disruptions.
The GCC reaffirmed its commitment to global energy market stability while emphasizing that any escalation could jeopardize regional security with dire consequences for international peace.
The meeting concluded with an affirmation of support for ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving regional stability and fostering peaceful resolutions to conflicts.
