GCC Legislative Leaders Commend Saudi Arabia's Efforts For Peace And Stability

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders praised the outcomes of the Gulf-U.S. Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia in May. They acknowledged Saudi Arabia's role, especially its co-chairing of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York City in September.

During a meeting in Manama, Bahrain, leaders from Shura, representatives, national, and Ummah councils of GCC countries expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's efforts. The conference was seen as a significant step towards achieving peace and reaffirming international commitment to implementing the two-state solution.

GCC Leaders Commend Saudi Peace Efforts

The leaders commended a ministerial committee chaired by Saudi Arabia, established by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit. This committee aims to halt Israeli aggression against Palestinians and facilitate Gaza's reconstruction. The importance of continued support for Palestine was emphasized.

Bahrain chairs an Arab ministerial committee that supports Palestine's international engagement efforts. The GCC leaders stressed the need for this committee to continue its work to help Palestine gain further global recognition.

In their final statement, legislative leaders congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Saudi Arabia’s successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. This achievement was celebrated as a milestone for the Kingdom.

The remarks were part of a statement issued after the 19th periodic meeting of GCC legislative leaders. The meeting included participation from a Saudi delegation led by Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh.

The gathering highlighted regional cooperation and unity among GCC countries in addressing key issues such as peace in Palestine and supporting international sports events like the FIFA World Cup.
