GCC Interior Ministers Gather In Doha To Tackle Emerging Security Challenges
The 41st meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Interior Ministers took place in Doha, led by Qatari Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Interior, attended and conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He wished for the meeting's success.
Prince Abdulaziz expressed appreciation to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Qatari government, and Sheikh Khalifa for their warm hospitality and leadership. He also acknowledged GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi and the Assistant Secretariat for Security Affairs for organizing the event effectively.

During his speech, Prince Abdulaziz highlighted the growing challenges faced by security services. These include new crime patterns linked to technology misuse, advanced drug smuggling techniques, and cross-border organized crime. He stressed that criminal organizations now use advanced technologies to smuggle and manufacture weapons, worsening crime, terrorism, and extremism in unstable regions.
The minister emphasized the need for joint efforts to develop strategies and enhance capabilities to tackle these issues. He noted that the meeting's outcomes would strengthen Gulf security cooperation, aligning with GCC leaders' directives and fulfilling their people's aspirations.
The interior ministers discussed key agenda items aimed at advancing joint security collaboration among GCC member states. These discussions focused on enhancing regional security, stability, and prosperity through collective efforts.
Prince Abdulaziz was accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking ministry officials during this significant gathering. Their participation underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to regional cooperation in addressing shared security concerns.
