GCC Recognises Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Al Nahyan For Pioneering Contributions To Social Work
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has recognised Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan for her significant contributions to community-based social work in the UAE. This recognition was announced during a ceremony held alongside the 11th meeting of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs/Development in Kuwait, attended by senior officials and ministers from the region.
Sheikha Dr. Shamma expressed her gratitude for this honour, stating that it underscores the UAE leadership's dedication to empowering community initiatives. She views the award as both an honour and a responsibility to further cultural and social projects through the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions.

During the ceremony, notable attendees included Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait; Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, GCC Secretary-General; Dr Amthal Al Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs of Kuwait, along with other sheikhas and GCC Ministers of Social Development.
The Ministry highlighted Sheikha Shamma's cultural, educational, and youth-focused initiatives that have empowered various societal segments. Her efforts have strengthened national identity and instilled authentic Emirati values in future generations. The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions are seen as a regional model due to their diverse initiatives and extensive community reach.
