GCC Delegation Visits Water Academy To Enhance Training In Water Sector
A delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General recently visited the Water Academy in Jubail. This academy, a training partner of the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), is being considered for accreditation as a key contributor to capacity building and technical training in the GCC's water sector. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation and explore joint training programs.
The delegation engaged with representatives from the SWA to discuss various training initiatives. These include programs for new graduates and employees in engineering and technical fields, alongside specialized global courses related to the water sector. They also viewed a visual presentation detailing the academy's over 40-year history.

During their visit, the delegation toured the academy's state-of-the-art facilities. They examined workshops, laboratories, and training halls that meet high international quality standards. These facilities are designed to prepare individuals for careers in the water sector by providing hands-on experience with advanced equipment.
The tour extended to the Water Technology Innovation and Research Institute, which serves as SWA’s research arm. Here, they learned about ongoing research capabilities and future innovations within the water industry. The institute plays a crucial role in advancing water technology and addressing industry challenges.
The visiting officials expressed their admiration for the practical and technical expertise present within Saudi Arabia's water sector. They showed interest in collaborating on water technology and services to tackle global challenges facing the industry today.
