GCC Communication Centres Meeting In AlUla Focuses On Enhancing Media Cooperation And Cultural Values
The second meeting of the heads of delegations from government communication centers and offices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries was inaugurated by Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosary at Al Maraya Theater in AlUla. This event, organized by the Ministry of Media’s Government Communication Center in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla, aimed to discuss advancements in government communication across GCC states.
Al-Dosary emphasized the importance of cooperation and communication among Gulf nations. "Today's journey continues to strengthen bonds of cooperation and communication as we build pathways to a united future for our beloved Gulf, crafting an impactful and sustainable identity for our nations," he stated. He highlighted that these efforts are crucial for shaping a promising future, leveraging AlUla's historical legacy as a foundation.

The minister outlined goals to enhance shared cultural values among Gulf nations. He stressed opening new horizons for cooperation between media and government institutions. This initiative aims to deepen mutual understanding and connection among people, working as one team to deliver effective media content that reflects positively on their countries.
Assistant Minister of Media Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlooth highlighted ongoing efforts to open new avenues and add stories to AlUla's history. "We welcome every idea and vision shared today, rich with cooperation and partnerships," he said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.
Delegation heads discussed proposals such as creating a mechanism for exchanging multimedia content to support Gulf communication efforts, especially on national days. They also agreed on a plan for training and expertise exchange, both in person and virtually. These discussions aim to enhance cooperation among GCC countries.
The meeting was attended by key leaders from GCC government communication centers, including UAE Government Media Office head Saeed Al-Attar, Bahraini National Communications Center Chief Executive Ahmed Al-Araifi, Saudi Ministry of Media spokesman Abdulrahman Majrashi, Omani Government Communication Center Director-General Ibrahim Al-Salmi, Qatari Government Communication Office Director Saud Al-Buainain, Kuwaiti Deputy Ambassador Counselor Hamad Al-Salloum, and GCC Director-General Dr. Abdulrahman Bouhaj.

The event featured knowledge-sharing sessions where delegation leaders presented project proposals. They engaged in discussions on enhancing cooperation. At the end of these sessions, commemorative shields were presented by the Saudi assistant minister of media to delegation heads, representatives, strategic partners, guests of honor, and project partners.
This meeting aligns with the media transformation initiative announced by Al-Dosary earlier in 2024 as part of Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to explore best practices in government communication and support initiatives for significant events while strengthening Gulf communication efforts.
