GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi Highlights Commitment To Global Presence And Economic Achievements
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General, Jasem Albudaiwi, has reiterated the GCC's dedication to enhancing its global presence and showcasing the region's progress in economic and financial sectors. This goal is being pursued through active involvement in joint meetings and Gulf economic events alongside the annual gatherings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
Albudaiwi commended the IMF for its role in fortifying the strategic partnership with the GCC. He highlighted its significance in tackling global challenges that affect the region, such as inflationary pressures and oil price fluctuations. The collaboration aims to address these issues effectively.

Preparations are underway for an upcoming joint session between GCC finance ministers, central bank governors, and the IMF managing director. This meeting will occur during the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting in October. Additionally, a separate gathering is planned with counterparts from Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The success of last year's Gulf economic event at the World Bank has paved the way for another significant event this October. Organized by the GCC in collaboration with the IMF, it aims to deepen discussions on crucial economic issues affecting GCC countries.
This forthcoming event will provide a vital platform for dialogue on key economic matters concerning GCC nations. It will also facilitate sharing experiences and best practices in economic and investment fields among participants.
Albudaiwi emphasized that these efforts are crucial for addressing regional challenges while promoting cooperation and understanding among member states. The focus remains on strengthening ties within the international community to support sustainable development across the region.
