GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi Highlights Commitment To Strengthening Global Presence And Economic Achievements
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi has reiterated the GCC's dedication to enhancing its global influence and showcasing the region's progress in economic and financial sectors. This goal is being pursued through active involvement in joint meetings and Gulf economic events alongside the annual gatherings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
Albudaiwi commended the IMF for its role in fortifying strategic ties with the GCC. He highlighted its significance in tackling global issues affecting the region, such as inflation and oil price volatility. The collaboration aims to address these challenges effectively.

The meeting also focused on preparations for an upcoming joint session between GCC finance ministers, central bank governors, and the IMF managing director. This session will occur during the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting scheduled for October.
Plans are underway for a separate gathering involving GCC finance ministers, central bank governors, and their counterparts from Central Asia and the Caucasus. These meetings aim to foster cooperation and dialogue on financial matters of mutual interest.
Albudaiwi mentioned that last year's successful Gulf economic event at the World Bank has set a positive precedent. This success paves the way for a forthcoming event in collaboration with the IMF this October. The event will provide a platform for discussing crucial economic issues related to GCC economies.
Opportunities for Dialogue and Exchange
The upcoming event will also facilitate exchanging experiences and sharing best practices in economic and investment fields. It aims to deepen dialogue on key topics concerning GCC economies, offering valuable insights into regional development strategies.
The GCC remains committed to strengthening its international presence by actively participating in significant global economic forums. These efforts aim to highlight regional achievements while addressing challenges impacting member states.
