GCC And China Aim To Strengthen Ties With Enhanced Cooperation Talks
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, confirmed that the Gulf-Chinese discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two sides. These talks were based on solid relations and shared interests, reflecting the outcomes of the first Gulf-Chinese Summit held in Saudi Arabia in December 2022. This statement was made during the discussions held today in Riyadh.
During these discussions, several topics of mutual interest were addressed. A key point was reviewing the latest developments in free trade negotiations between GCC member states and China. Albudaiwi emphasised the importance of progressing and concluding these negotiations soon. The Chinese side was chaired by Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

Both parties also discussed enhancing cooperation in various fields to serve their shared interests. They highlighted the significance of implementing the Joint Action Plan for 2023–2027. This plan aims to develop cooperation across multiple sectors.
The discussions included exchanging views on several regional and international issues. A primary focus was on following up on recent developments in the region, especially concerning the crisis in Gaza. The serious and ongoing violations by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians were a major topic.
The Chinese side stressed the necessity of working towards a ceasefire. They also emphasised implementing all relevant international and UN resolutions to address this crisis effectively.
Albudaiwi chaired the GCC side during these discussions, which aimed to build upon existing strong relations and mutual interests between both parties.
In addition to trade and regional issues, both sides explored ways to enhance cooperation further. They discussed developing it across various fields to benefit their shared interests.
