Saudi Foreign Minister Advocates For GCC-Central Asia Cooperation In Tashkent
Today, in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, played a pivotal role in the second ministerial meeting of the GCC-Central Asia Strategic Dialogue. The meeting underscored the growing relationship between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Central Asian nations, highlighting a shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across both regions.
During his address, Prince Faisal emphasized the necessity of bolstering coordination and consultation efforts grounded in mutual values, interests, and the rich historical connections that have seen significant strengthening in recent years. He advocated for peace negotiations aligned with the Arab Peace Initiative and international law principles. Furthermore, Prince Faisal highlighted the urgent need for a sustainable ceasefire, lifting the blockade on Gaza Strip, and ensuring that vital humanitarian aid reaches those in need. He also called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take decisive steps to halt Israeli aggression against Palestinians permanently.
The meeting was also attended by notable figures including Saudi Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yousef Algahrah and Anas Alwasedey, Director of the Department of GCC Countries at the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
