GCA President Dr. Hussam Alangari Welcomes Gambia Auditor General Modou Ceesay To Strengthen Collaboration

Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA), recently welcomed Modou Ceesay, Auditor General of the Republic of Gambia National Audit Office (NAO), and his delegation at the GCA headquarters in Riyadh. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the GCA in Saudi Arabia and the NAO in Gambia, focusing on exchanging expertise and improving operational efficiency.

The discussions between Dr. Alangari and Mr. Ceesay centred on developing human capital within both organizations. This initiative aligns with the goals of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), where both entities are active members. Dr. Alangari expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended during the visit.

Dr. Alangari highlighted his commitment to expanding cooperation between the two audit bodies in areas of mutual interest. Both parties engaged in discussions on various topics, exploring strategies to enhance joint initiatives across multiple fields. These efforts aim to reinforce their collaborative relationship further.

The Gambian delegation also visited the Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA). During this tour, they met with Tariq Aljurayfani, Vice President of Institutional Services and Director-General of SCFPA. Aljurayfani provided an overview of the center's capabilities, emphasizing its specialized training programs.

The SCFPA is known for its use of advanced methodologies and modern digital technologies in training programs. These programs are designed for GCA employees, personnel from audited entities, and staff from counterpart Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) within regional and international financial auditing organizations.

Following these discussions and tours, both sides explored strategies to implement joint initiatives effectively. The focus was on enhancing cooperation in shared areas of interest, ensuring that both organizations benefit from each other's expertise and resources.

This visit marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia's GCA and Gambia's NAO. By working together, they aim to improve their auditing practices and contribute positively to their respective countries' financial oversight capabilities.
