GCA President And India's Auditor General Discuss Auditing Cooperation
Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA), met with Girish Chandra Murmu, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and his delegation. The meeting focused on mutual interests and enhancing cooperation in various fields.
In the presence of Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU aims to foster collaboration in accounting, control, and auditing professions.

The delegation was briefed on GCA's transition from cash basis to accrual accounting in the public sector. They also discussed GCA's efforts in building professional capacities.
Dr. Alangari highlighted that the MoU seeks to enhance cooperation between GCA and India's Comptroller and Auditor General's Office. This will include financial auditing, compliance auditing, and performance auditing through joint research and advisory projects.
The visit concluded with a tour of the GCA museum. The delegation learned about GCA's century-long development journey, digital transformation achievements, leadership roles in international organizations, institutional capacities, and advanced methodologies in financial auditing.
International Collaboration
The cooperation will be within the framework of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI). Both parties are members of these organizations.
The meeting also explored organizing meetings, conferences, and training programs on topics of mutual interest. These initiatives aim to strengthen professional ties between the two countries.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing audit practices and professional standards between Saudi Arabia and India.
