GCA President Dr. Hussam Bin Abdulmohsen Alangari Chairs INTOSAI Policy Committee Meeting In Washington
Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA) and Chair of the Policy, Finance, and Administration Committee (PFAC) of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), led the 22nd committee meeting in Washington, D.C. on Monday. The gathering included Gene Dodaro, Vice-Chair and Auditor General of the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO), along with representatives from Brazil, Egypt, Austria, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Norway.
The meeting underscored Saudi Arabia's active role in the global community of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), represented by the GCA. Dr. Alangari highlighted the committee's dedication to supporting INTOSAI's objectives and enhancing transparency and accountability within SAIs. This commitment was evident in his opening remarks.

During the meeting, several agenda items were discussed. A key focus was on INTOSAI’s financial position and budget for 2026–2028 as reported by the general secretariat. Additionally, a significant report from GCA outlined the committee’s major achievements and activities.
Reports were also presented by Chairs of INTOSAI’s Strategic Goals. Updates came from various committees including the Professional Standards Committee (PSC), Capacity Building Committee (CBC), Knowledge Sharing Committee (KSC), Supervisory Committee on Emerging Issues, and INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
The committee approved INTOSAI’s Performance and Accountability Report for 2023–2025. This approval marked a significant step in ensuring accountability within INTOSAI's operations over this period.
Beyond chairing PFAC, GCA holds additional roles within INTOSAI. It serves as Second-Vice Chairman of INTOSAI and Co-chair of the INTOSAI-Donor Steering Committee (IDSC). This partnership includes collaboration with the World Bank to further INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation efforts.
