GCA Launches Innovative ARABOSAI Certified Auditor Program To Strengthen Auditing Skills In The Arab World

The General Court of Audit (GCA) President, Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari, has introduced the ARABOSAI Certified Auditor (ACA) program. This initiative, crafted by the GCA's Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA), is a pioneering effort in the Arab region. It aims to enhance skills and professional competencies in accounting and auditing.

Dr. Alangari stressed the program's significance as it seeks to develop a proficient Arab professional community. This community will be equipped to conduct public sector audits adhering to top international standards and best practices. The GCA is committed to sharing its vast auditing expertise with ARABOSAI and similar institutions across the Arab world.

GCA Launches ARABOSAI Auditor Program

The ACA program is part of GCA's leadership role within the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), which continues until 2028. The first group includes about 20 auditors from various Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in the Arab region. These participants are required to complete 265 training hours provided by SCFPA.

The training encompasses three key audit disciplines: accrual-based financial auditing, compliance auditing, and performance auditing. A total of 135 specialized topics will be covered using diverse learning methods such as hands-on practice, self-paced learning, interactive workshops, and examinations.

This initiative aims to improve auditors' professional capacity and performance across Arab SAIs. By doing so, it ensures they meet international requirements and align with global trends in auditing and accounting. The program also aids in implementing the SAI Performance Measurement Framework (SAI-PMF), fostering sustainable institutional development.

Dr. Alangari reiterated GCA's dedication to contributing added value to ARABOSAI and its counterpart institutions throughout the Arab region. He highlighted that this program is a crucial step towards building capacities in accounting and auditing fields.

The ACA program represents a significant advancement for the Arab world in terms of professional development in public sector audits. It underscores GCA's commitment to elevating auditing standards through comprehensive training and skill enhancement initiatives.
