Discover How Ramadan At The Pearling Path Celebrates Bahrain's Rich Heritage

In the heart of Muharraq, a city known for its deep-rooted history and culture, a vibrant cultural programme titled "Gathering at the Pearling Path" has come to life at the Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Centre. This event, set against the backdrop of Ramadhan's special atmosphere, has been drawing in crowds of visitors and families, eager to immerse themselves in a blend of musical, culinary, and artistic experiences that celebrate the holy month's essence.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) has meticulously organized this programme, coinciding with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's (BTEA) unveiling of the Ramadhan in Bahrain events calendar. This alignment underscores a collective effort to enrich the cultural landscape during this sacred time.

Cultural Programme Launched in Muharraq for Ramadhan

Spanning until March 20, the programme is scheduled to entertain and engage audiences from Sunday to Wednesday between 9 pm and midnight, and from Thursday to Saturday, it extends an hour longer, from 9 pm to 1 am. The Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Centre stands at the core of these festivities, acting as the main venue where an array of activities unfolds.

Enthralling Musical Performances and Cultural Workshops

The air around the centre buzzes with the melodies of traditional Bahraini music, featuring performances by both emerging and established local artists such as Mohammed bin Faris Band, Jasim Mallalla, and Nasser Al Mansoor, to name a few. These musical evenings provide a rare opportunity to experience the rich auditory heritage of Bahrain up close.

Moreover, the programme offers workshops catering to all age groups, from crafting Gergaoun bags and painting crescent moons to designing Islamic mosaic patterns. These hands-on activities not only offer a fun-filled learning experience but also allow participants to connect with the cultural traditions of Ramadhan in a creative way.

Gastronomic Delights and Cultural Exploration

Adding to the allure, visitors can delve into the flavours of Ramadhan through culinary experiences that highlight traditional dishes. The culinary journey extends beyond the Visitor Centre, with several cultural activation sites featuring some of Bahrain's leading cafés and restaurants, like Dar Amana and Higher Grounds, offering a taste of local cuisine.

Special events such as the Haneen Sedra exhibition, which showcases a diverse collection of artefacts daily, and the Muharraq Auction at Amarat Fakhro, add layers of historical and cultural depth to the programme. Notably, two Gergaoun celebrations promise to fill the streets with joy and festivity, featuring the Qalali Folk Band and children, creating memorable moments for families and visitors alike.

The programme ensures seamless access to its myriad events through the provision of multi-storey car parks and valet services near key locations, facilitating an enjoyable experience for all attendees.

The "Gathering at the Pearling Path" not only offers a window into the cultural heart of Bahrain but also fosters a sense of community and shared heritage during Ramadhan. As the programme concludes on March 28 with the Farewell of Ramadhan event, it leaves behind a trail of enriched cultural understanding and cherished memories among its participants.
