GASTAT Reports Total Of 1,673,230 Pilgrims For Hajj 1446 AH
The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported that 1,673,230 pilgrims are participating in Hajj 1446 AH. Among them, 1,506,576 have travelled from abroad, while 166,654 are from within Saudi Arabia. This includes both citizens and residents. The data highlights the significant number of international pilgrims attending this religious event.
GASTAT disclosed that most pilgrims, numbering 1,435,017, arrived by air. Additionally, 66,465 entered through land borders and 5,094 via seaports. The gender distribution shows that there are 877,841 male pilgrims and 795,389 female pilgrims participating in this year's Hajj.

The methodology used by GASTAT for these statistics is based on administrative records from the Ministry of Interior. This approach has been consistently applied over the past five years to ensure high accuracy and reliability in Hajj statistics. The model used is standardized with several key components to maintain consistency.
As the official statistical authority in Saudi Arabia, GASTAT is responsible for providing all official statistics in the Kingdom. It oversees national statistical activities such as technical supervision, conducting field surveys and research, data analysis, and managing the documentation and preservation of statistical information across various sectors.
Dr. Fahad Aldossari, President of GASTAT, expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their support to the pilgrims. He also prayed for Allah's acceptance of the pilgrims' Hajj and success for government entities in providing excellent services.
