Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Launches Gardens Of Tolerance To Celebrate Emirati-Korean Friendship
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated Umm Al Emarat Park as the first site for the "Gardens of Tolerance" initiative. The event was attended by Yoo Jehseung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the UAE, who was the guest of honour at the National Festival of Tolerance and Coexistence. This initiative aims to foster friendship between the UAE and South Korea.
The festival, organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in partnership with the Korean Embassy and Korea Festival 2024, celebrates cultural diversity. It highlights coexistence and harmony between the two nations. A significant part of this celebration is a live performance by K-pop group The Wind, known for their energetic stage presence.

The festival offers visitors a chance to explore Emirati culture through interactive sessions. These include traditional crafts, storytelling, and activities that showcase Emirati history and customs. Additionally, Korean workshops provide insights into Korean heritage, enhancing cultural understanding between attendees.
A notable feature of the ceremony was planting native trees from both countries. This act symbolises enduring friendship and collaboration between the UAE and South Korea. Ambassadors from various friendly nations were present to witness this symbolic gesture within Umm Al Emarat Park's serene environment.
Visitors can enjoy performances like 'Unbelievable Show' by Bubble J and K-Nongak by Gwangju City Municipal Gwangjiwon Nongak Band. These performances offer a glimpse into Korean culture through music and dance. Taekwondo demonstrations by Akh Unit and KCC Youth Taekwondo Team also highlight Korean martial arts' skill and precision.
The "Gardens of Tolerance" within Umm Al Emarat Park features a diverse collection of Emirati and Korean trees and plants. This garden serves as a beautiful sanctuary symbolising the flourishing friendship between these two nations. Sheikh Nahyan led a 'Tolerance Walk' before unveiling this dedicated garden space.
The festival's lineup includes Taekwondo demonstrations showcasing this celebrated Korean martial art's skill and precision. These demonstrations are part of an array of cultural activities designed to engage visitors in both Emirati and Korean traditions.
This event not only celebrates cultural diversity but also promotes tolerance through shared experiences in music, art, and nature. By bringing together elements from both cultures, it aims to strengthen bonds between people from different backgrounds.
