GACA Reports On September Airport Performance Across Saudi Arabia's Domestic And International Airports
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has released its monthly evaluation for September 2025, assessing the performance of Saudi Arabia's domestic and international airports. This assessment is based on 11 key indicators, aiming to improve services and enhance passenger experiences across the Kingdom.
In the category of international airports managing over 15 million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh secured the top spot with an 82% compliance rate. Although King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah also achieved an 82% compliance rate, it was outperformed by King Khalid International Airport in meeting required standards.

King Fahd International Airport in Dammam led the category for international airports handling between five and 15 million passengers annually with a compliance rate of 91%. Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah matched this rate but was slightly behind in meeting overall standards compared to King Fahd International Airport.
Abha International Airport excelled among international airports serving two to five million passengers annually. It achieved a perfect compliance rate of 100%, surpassing others in average waiting times for both departures and arrivals.
Qaisumah International Airport topped the list for airports with fewer than two million passengers annually, boasting a 100% compliance rate. It led its peers in terms of average waiting times for both departures and arrivals.
The evaluation by GACA incorporates various criteria such as passenger waiting times during travel procedures, time spent at baggage claim, passport control, customs areas, and standards for passengers with disabilities. These criteria align with global best practices to ensure high-quality service delivery.
