GACA Report Reveals Top Performing Airports In Saudi Arabia For June 2025
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has published its June 2025 report, assessing the performance of Saudi Arabia's airports. This evaluation uses 11 key performance indicators to enhance service quality and passenger experience across the nation. The report categorises airports based on passenger volume, highlighting top performers in each category.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh emerged as the leader among international airports serving over 15 million passengers annually, achieving an 82% compliance rate. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah followed with a 73% compliance rate. These results reflect efforts to improve service standards at major hubs.

In the category for international airports handling between five and 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam secured first place with a 91% compliance rate. Although Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah also achieved a 91% compliance rate, King Fahd excelled overall.
Abha International Airport led the third category for international airports managing two to five million passengers each year. It achieved a perfect compliance score of 100%, particularly excelling in reducing average wait times for both departures and arrivals.
Arar International Airport topped the fourth category for international airports with fewer than two million passengers annually, also achieving a perfect compliance score of 100%. This airport stood out for its efficiency in managing average wait times.
Al-Qurayyat Airport was recognised as the best-performing domestic airport, achieving a flawless compliance rate of 100%. It surpassed all other domestic airports in terms of combined average wait times for both departures and arrivals.
The evaluation system used by GACA is comprehensive, focusing on crucial criteria such as passenger wait times at check-in, baggage claim, passport control, and customs. It also includes specific benchmarks related to services for persons with disabilities, ensuring alignment with international standards.
This structured approach by GACA aims to continually improve airport services across Saudi Arabia. By focusing on key performance indicators, the authority seeks to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers while maintaining high operational standards.
