GACA Chief Visits Inaugural Egypt International Airshow To Foster Aviation Ties
President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, visited the Egypt International Airshow's first edition. The event is held from September 3 to 5, 2024, at El Alamein International Airport. He was accompanied by Deputy Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force Major General Pilot Talal Al-Ghamdi and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini.
During their visit, Al-Duailej and his delegation toured various pavilions. They observed a wide range of products, technologies, and services in civil and military aviation and space. The tour included visits to the pavilions of several participating companies such as Saudia Group, Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the Royal Saudi Air Force, Korea Aerospace Industries, Boeing, and COMAC.

The event showcased advanced technologies in civil aviation and the latest solutions in aircraft maintenance, repair, advanced training, and defense systems. This diverse range of companies highlighted innovations that are shaping the future of aviation.
On the sidelines of the airshow, Al-Duailej met with Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Sameh El-Hefny. They discussed issues of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation in civil aviation. Potential investment opportunities in air transport were also a key topic during their discussions.
Al-Duailej also held a meeting with AviLease CEO Edward O'Byrne. They reviewed AviLease's strategy, goals, and areas for future collaboration. This meeting aimed to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for partnership within the aviation sector.
Global Participation at Egypt International Airshow
The Egypt International Airshow features participants from over 100 countries and more than 300 companies and entities. Major global aircraft manufacturers and space industries are among the participants. The event also hosts several experts from the aviation, space, and defense industries worldwide.
Heads of international and regional civil aviation organizations are also present at the airshow. This gathering provides a platform for industry leaders to share insights and discuss advancements in aviation technology.
The visit by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to staying abreast of global advancements in aviation technology. It also highlights efforts to foster international cooperation within the industry.
