GACA Concludes Successful Participation At ICAO Security Week 2024 In Oman Focusing On Aviation Security

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) recently concluded its participation in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week 2024. This event took place in Oman from December 9 to 12, bringing together global leaders and heads of civil aviation organizations to discuss security collaboration.

During the ICAO Security Week, GACA showcased its significant contributions at both regional and international levels. It emphasized its leadership role as the chair of the Civil Aviation Security Committee of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, a position it has been elected to for the third consecutive time. The authority also highlighted its commitment to supporting ICAO's initiatives related to security and cyber security in civil aviation.

GACA is dedicated to advancing skills and tools that enhance aviation safety standards. It aims to improve air operations and airport safety by leveraging modern technologies. The authority is working towards establishing an innovative aviation security sector through these efforts.

Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of GACA, explored exhibition pavilions during the event. He was briefed on cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions for air traffic security, drone tracking systems, and cyber security. These innovations are crucial for addressing threats from digital methods and drones.

The ICAO Security Week 2024 included several bilateral meetings led by Al-Duailej. These discussions aimed to strengthen cooperation with aviation authorities worldwide. Officials from countries such as the United States, Egypt, Oman, and Qatar participated in these meetings.
