GACA Releases March 2025 Report On Domestic And International Airport Performance
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) recently released its monthly report evaluating the performance of Saudi Arabia's airports for March 2025. This assessment, based on 11 key performance indicators, aims to enhance passenger services and improve the overall experience at the Kingdom's airports. The report highlights top-performing airports across various categories.
In the category for international airports with more than 15 million annual passengers, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh achieved first place with an 82% compliance rate. It outperformed King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which secured second place with a 73% compliance rate.

King Fahd International Airport in Dammam led the category for international airports handling between 5 to 15 million passengers annually, achieving a compliance rate of 91%. Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport followed with an 82% compliance rate.
For international airports accommodating two to five million passengers annually, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan and Abha International Airport both achieved a perfect compliance score of 100%. However, Jizan airport excelled over Abha in terms of average waiting times for arrivals and departures.
Al-Ahsa International Airport topped the list for international airports with fewer than two million annual passengers by achieving a perfect compliance score of 100%. It surpassed other airports in terms of average waiting times for both arrivals and departures.
Among domestic airports, Al-Gurayat Airport emerged as the leader with a flawless compliance score of 100%, outperforming all other domestic competitors regarding average waiting times for arrival and departure flights.
Performance Indicators and Strategic Goals
The evaluation by GACA is grounded on 11 key performance indicators. These include metrics such as passenger waiting times during travel procedures, time spent at baggage claim, immigration and customs areas, and standards related to passengers with disabilities. These indicators align with global best practices.
