GACA Reports On Domestic And International Airport Performance For July 2025
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) recently released its monthly report for July 2025, assessing the performance of Saudi Arabia's domestic and international airports. This evaluation is based on 11 key performance indicators. The report supports GACA's strategic goals to enhance passenger services, improve service quality, and elevate the overall experience at the Kingdom's airports.
Airports were divided into five categories for this assessment. In the first category, which includes international airports with over 15 million annual passengers, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh ranked first with an 82% compliance rate. It surpassed King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which also had an 82% compliance rate but was outperformed by King Khalid International Airport in meeting standards.

In the second category, covering international airports with five to 15 million annual passengers, Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah took the top spot with a 91% compliance rate. Meanwhile, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam achieved an 82% compliance rate. This category highlighted the competitive nature of airport performance within this passenger range.
Abha International Airport excelled in the third category for international airports handling two to five million passengers annually. It achieved a perfect compliance rate of 100%. This demonstrates its commitment to maintaining high standards and efficiency.
Arar International Airport led the fourth category for international airports with fewer than two million annual passengers. It achieved a flawless compliance rate of 100%, excelling particularly in average waiting times for both arrival and departure flights.
In the fifth category, Al-Qurayyat Airport emerged as the leader among domestic airports. It secured a perfect compliance rate of 100%, surpassing all other competing airports regarding average waiting times for arrivals and departures.
Performance Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation by GACA relies on 11 crucial criteria. These include passenger waiting times during travel procedures, time spent at baggage claim, immigration and customs areas, and standards related to passengers with disabilities. These criteria are aligned with best global practices to ensure comprehensive assessment.
This detailed evaluation reflects GACA's commitment to enhancing airport services across Saudi Arabia. By focusing on key performance indicators, GACA aims to continually improve the quality of service provided to passengers at all levels of airport operations.
