GACA Releases August 2025 Report On Airport Performance Across The Kingdom
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has published its monthly report for August 2025, detailing the performance of Saudi Arabia's airports. This report evaluates both international and domestic airports based on 11 key criteria, aiming to enhance service quality and passenger experience.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh led the category of international airports managing over 15 million passengers annually, achieving an 82% compliance rate. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah followed with a 73% compliance rate. These rankings highlight the efficiency and service quality at these major hubs.

In the category for airports handling between five million and 15 million passengers yearly, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam excelled with a compliance rate of 91%. This surpassed Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, showcasing Dammam's superior performance in this segment.
Abha International Airport achieved full compliance at 100%, leading among airports serving between two and five million passengers annually. The airport particularly excelled in reducing average wait times for both departing and arriving passengers, setting a high standard for efficiency.
Qaisumah International Airport topped the list for international airports handling fewer than two million passengers annually, also achieving full compliance at 100%. The airport stood out for its efficient management of average wait times, demonstrating exceptional service standards despite its smaller size.
On the domestic front, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Baha ranked first with a perfect compliance score of 100%. It outperformed other domestic airports by excelling in wait-time efficiency, highlighting its commitment to providing swift services to passengers.
Evaluation Criteria and Best Practices
GACA's evaluation criteria encompass various aspects such as passenger wait times at check-in, baggage claim, passport control, and customs. Additionally, services provided for people with disabilities are assessed. These indicators align with international best practices to ensure comprehensive evaluations.
