GACA Highlights Achievements And Future Goals At Bahrain International Airshow 2024

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) wrapped up its participation in the Bahrain International Airshow 2024, held from November 13 to 15 at Sakhir Air Base. This event provided a platform for GACA to display its achievements and reinforce Saudi Arabia's leadership in global civil aviation.

GACA's pavilion showcased the National Aviation Strategy's core elements, such as improved air connectivity targeting 250 destinations. It also focused on adopting advanced technologies and digital transformation. The Advanced Air Mobility Roadmap and Environmental Sustainability Program were introduced, highlighting efforts to lessen aviation's environmental impact.

GACA Concludes Participation in Bahrain Airshow

The authority stressed the importance of fostering investment opportunities within the aviation sector. Enhancing the traveller experience and streamlining operational processes were also key topics. GACA discussed quality management, passenger protection measures, and innovations in air cargo, aligning with international standards.

Significant achievements were highlighted during the event, including record-breaking milestones in economic and social development within the aviation sector. GACA emphasized Saudi Arabia’s progress in global rankings and notable outcomes under the National Aviation Strategy.

A remarkable 15% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers was recorded, reaching 94 million in the first nine months of 2024. Additionally, there was a 10% rise in flight operations compared to 2023. These figures underscore the Kingdom's significant advancements in civil aviation.

The Bahrain International Airshow 2024 attracted diverse participants, including 11 sponsoring companies and 223 civil and military delegations from over 56 countries. With 135 regional and international exhibitors present, it stands as one of the region’s premier aviation events.

GACA’s participation at this event reinforced Saudi Arabia's prominent role in global air transport. By showcasing its strategies and achievements, GACA continues to lead advancements in civil aviation while supporting sustainable growth within the industry.
