The 'Future of Government Communication Forum' was a key event at the World Government Summit 2025. It tackled pressing communication issues that governments face amid fast-paced global changes. Experts discussed best practices in government communication diplomacy, misinformation's impact, and strategies for navigating the evolving media landscape, particularly in the AI era.

Over six sessions, media and communication experts gathered to examine the latest social media tools and the challenges posed by misinformation. The discussions aimed to develop innovative solutions to enhance government communication effectiveness amidst rapid technological advancements.

Government Communication Forum Tackles Media Challenges

The session titled "Innovative Mindset – Reimagining Government Communication Concepts" featured Khadija Hussain from the UAE Government Media Office, Abdulrahman Majrashi from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media, Mina Al-Oraibi of The National, and Kok Jwee Foo from Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information. They emphasized that overcoming government communication challenges requires adept navigation of politics, technology, and media to ensure transparency and credibility.

In another session called "Decoding the Future: Media, Technology and Leadership," Bob Pearson shared strategic visions on future trends. As a former Chief Communications Officer for three Fortune 500 companies and a professor at the University of Texas, Austin, he highlighted sophisticated storytelling methods and advanced techniques for identifying influencers. He also discussed how trust is spread through modern media channels.

The "Talk Shows and Public Opinion Shaping" session brought together prominent Arab media figures like Amr Adeeb from Egypt, Neshan Der Haroutiounian from Lebanon, and Abdullah Al-Mudaifer from Saudi Arabia. Moderated by Jamal Al Mulla from the UAE, this session explored ways to enhance public interaction through talk shows. It highlighted their role in shaping public opinion and how government institutions can counteract media deception.

During the "Digital Diplomacy: A Renewed Vision" session, Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, along with other public diplomacy practitioners, explored innovative approaches to strengthen international partnerships. This session underscored digital diplomacy as a revolution in public diplomacy through effective engagement with diverse global audiences.

Historical Dialogue Through AI

An exceptional dialogue combined past and present using interactive AI technologies. Former British PM Boris Johnson engaged in an inspiring conversation with historical figure Winston Churchill. Johnson had previously authored "The Churchill Factor: How One Man Made History." Together they discussed navigating a world full of tensions similar to those leading up to World War II while pondering how to prevent World War III.

In a session titled "How and Why Are Election Campaigns Changing Around the World?" Jason Miller shared insights into Donald Trump's electoral strategies. As Senior Advisor to Trump, he provided lessons on leveraging digital media for building trust and expanding audience reach in innovative ways.

Summit Highlights

The World Governments Summit 2025 was themed ‘Shaping Future Governments’. It gathered over 30 heads of state and government along with more than 80 international organisations. The agenda included 21 global forums exploring major future trends across over 200 interactive sessions featuring more than 300 speakers including presidents and ministers.

The summit also published 30 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners. Over 30 ministerial meetings were held alongside roundtables attended by more than 400 ministers. This comprehensive gathering aimed at addressing future governmental transformations effectively.
