Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Vice-Chair of the World Governments Summit, attended the event alongside international government leaders. Al Roumi stated that the global edition of the Future Fit Seal celebrated proactive leadership models that strengthen global readiness for future challenges and reflected the UAE government’s focus on future-oriented governance.

Al Roumi explained that the Future Fit Seal aligned with the World Governments Summit’s role as a platform for knowledge exchange and future-focused solutions. The initiative concentrated on innovative government models that delivered measurable impact at sectoral, national, and global levels, with assessment based on clear outcomes and data-driven performance indicators.

The second cycle of the Global Future Fit Seal drew submissions from over 100 countries, with more than 1,500 projects evaluated. From this pool, three initiatives were chosen for their readiness to address emerging challenges and their use of advanced technologies and data to support long-term national strategies.

The awards were received by Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation of Albania; Jeong Wondong, Vice President of the Management Division at Busan Port, Republic of Korea; and Dr. Seow Shih Wee, Senior Director of Corporate Services at Precision Health Research Singapore – PRECISE, which leads Singapore’s National Precision Medicine Programme.

Future Fit Seal smart port and precision medicine initiatives

Busan Port in the Republic of Korea was recognised for its progress into a fully automated smart port. The port deployed artificial intelligence, Internet of Things systems, big-data logistics platforms, and blockchain-based documentation, while a Digital Twin Logistics platform improved coordination between maritime and land transport networks, boosting productivity and reducing operating costs.

Singapore’s National Precision Medicine Programme integrated genomic, clinical, lifestyle, and environmental data to support early diagnosis, targeted treatment, and preventive healthcare. The programme advanced through several phases, including large-scale genome sequencing across diverse population groups, which strengthened Singapore’s position in precision health and data-driven medical research.

Future Fit Seal national symbol and global edition

The Future Fit Seal was launched as a national symbol by the Government Development and the Future Office of the UAE government. It was awarded to federal and local government projects that enhanced the UAE’s readiness for the future through proactive planning, clear objectives, and bold yet practical visions backed by measurable outcomes.

The national programme focused on readiness projects within key sectors, including the new economy, advanced technology, food and water security, environmental sustainability, future skills, and quality of life. The global edition of the Future Fit Seal debuted at the World Governments Summit 2025, where four international projects were recognised in its first cycle.

With the second global cycle completed at the World Governments Summit 2026, the Future Fit Seal continued to highlight practical models of future readiness. The recognition of projects from Albania, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore underscored how diverse governments used innovation, data, and technology to prepare for emerging global challenges.
