The Future Blockchain Summit 2024 has commenced at Dubai Harbour, attracting participants from the global blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors. This event is a major convergence of industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts eager to explore the latest advancements in blockchain technology. The summit's agenda is packed with influential speakers and sessions under the theme ‘Investments in Blockchain & Gaming.’

A key session was led by Dr. Marwan AlZarouni, CEO of AI at Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism. He highlighted Dubai's leadership in AI and blockchain innovation. "Dubai, a city known for its ambition and forward-thinking vision, welcomes you to explore the potential of your AI and blockchain projects," he stated. He emphasised Dubai's resources, business-friendly environment, and commitment to future technologies.

Mike Williams, Chief Communication Officer at Toobit, discussed investment opportunities in blockchain technology. He noted that tokenisation of real-world assets (RWA) is a transformative trend. By using blockchain to fractionalise traditionally illiquid assets like real estate, these projects are making them accessible to more people. Williams added that regions like Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Africa are becoming key players in crypto innovation.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman & CEO of DMCC, shared insights on AI's impact on trade. He predicted significant changes by 2026 due to automation and blockchain adoption. "Security will be the deciding factor of how far we go," he said. His session focused on how these technologies would shape future trade dynamics.

The accelerated institutional adoption of blockchain was another focal point. A panel discussion featuring John Fan from Inception Capital USA, Marcel Kasumovich from Coinbase Asset Management, Oliver von Wolff from Helion Edge UAE, and Mansoor Madhavji from Blockchain Founders Fund UAE explored this topic. They discussed Dubai's market growth potential with expanding investments and new asset classes.

Mansoor Madhavji remarked on the UAE's transformation since 2017 in attracting top-tier founders due to visa policy changes. "This freedom of movement has led to the emergence of highly polished startups," he said. The UAE is rapidly becoming a global hub for blockchain innovation with major conferences drawing key industry players.

Web3 gaming also took centre stage at the summit as it represents a shift from traditional gaming models. Blowfish Studios showcased their AAA open-world space adventure game integrated with blockchain technology. Attendees experienced new cooperative game modes where players team up online to complete objectives.
