Fujairah Mental Arithmetic Championship Qualifying Rounds Open Across Emirate

The Fujairah Mental Arithmetic Championship enters a new phase in 2025, with qualifying rounds now underway across the emirate. Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the programme focuses on sharpening students’ mental arithmetic skills through structured competition and intensive preparation.

Across three qualifying events, 400 students will compete for 200 places in the emirate-level final. Each qualifying competition includes 100 participants, all of whom already completed a rigorous training stage. The final championship is described as the main milestone of the initiative and reflects students’ progress.

Fujairah Arithmetic Championship Qualifiers Begin

The Fujairah Mental Arithmetic Championship forms part of an advanced educational programme that targets outstanding students. The initiative is designed to strengthen mental agility and numerical thinking, using specialised exercises. It aims to build a knowledgeable generation with strong analytical skills that are relevant for future academic and professional demands.

Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of H.H. the Crown Prince of Fujairah, stated that the championship is closely linked to a long-term strategy for talent development in the emirate. The initiative supports sustainable investment in skilled students and focuses on developing competencies that match future economic and knowledge priorities.

The qualifying competitions are scheduled for 11th January, 17th January, and 18th January. Events take place at Zayed Educational Complexes in Al Bidyah, Fujairah, and Dibba Al Fujairah. Holding the rounds in several locations ensures wider access for students from different areas of the emirate and supports balanced participation.

The competition format is built around solving arithmetic tasks under strict time limits. Organisers intend to create a stimulating learning environment where students handle pressure while maintaining accuracy. The structure is designed to strengthen quick thinking, precision, concentration, confidence, attention span, and fast decision-making skills in real-time conditions.

According to organisers, this initiative aligns with the Fujairah Government’s broader educational agenda. Authorities seek to support high-quality programmes that enhance students’ cognitive abilities and modern skills. The championship helps prepare a capable generation ready to compete at local, regional, and international levels with solid mental and arithmetic competencies.
