Fujairah Martial Arts Club Wins Overall Title At Judo Japanese Ambassador's Cup
The Fujairah Martial Arts Club emerged victorious at the 8th Judo Japanese Ambassador's Cup for Juniors and Cadets. This event was organised by the UAE Judo Federation in Baniyas, with support from the Japanese Embassy and INPEX Corporation Abu Dhabi. The competition featured both male and female athletes, drawing a total of 180 participants.
Fujairah Martial Arts Club clinched the overall championship title, amassing ten medals: two gold, three silver, and five bronze. Following them, Sharjah Club secured second place with two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals. The Sharjah Self-Defence Club team came third with two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Kalba Club finished in fourth place.

The medal tally highlighted Fujairah Martial Arts Club's dominance with their impressive haul. Meanwhile, Sharjah Club's performance earned them a commendable second place. The Sharjah Self-Defence Club also showcased their skills to secure third position in this competitive event.
During the closing ceremony, several dignitaries were present to honour the winners. Ken Okaniwa, Japan's Ambassador to the UAE; Hiroshi Hagiwara from INPEX Corporation; Nasser Al Badour of the UAE Judo Federation; Mohammed Jassim from the Federation; and Ali Al Yamahi were among those who presented awards to the victors.
Ambassador Okaniwa extended his congratulations to all winners. He praised their demonstration of judo’s fundamental values such as respect and discipline. Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards the UAE Judo Federation for its continuous support in promoting judo within the region.
This event not only celebrated athletic achievements but also fostered cultural exchange between Japan and the UAE through sportsmanship. The collaboration between various organisations ensured a successful tournament that highlighted talent across different clubs.
