Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship 2024 Kicks Off With Over 300 Purebred Horses
The Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship began at the Fujairah Fort Arena under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. The event was graced by Sheikh Dr Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Seef Al Sharqi. This championship highlights Fujairah's prominence in equestrian sports globally.
The Emirate's recognition as a key equestrian hub is due to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah. His continuous support has bolstered Fujairah's status in this traditional sport. This year's championship features over 300 top purebred Arabian horses from across the globe, drawing significant media attention both regionally and internationally.
Sheikh Dr Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi presented awards to winners in the Yearling Fillies category at the 2024 championship. He praised the outstanding performance levels of participating horses, which showcase dedication and professionalism in equestrian sports. The event has become a major highlight on the global equestrian calendar.
In addition to the main competition, various activities and events are being held to celebrate traditional Emirati culture and heritage. These events provide visitors with a rich experience that reflects the UAE’s deep-rooted identity. The championship not only focuses on sports but also offers cultural insights into Emirati traditions.
The opening ceremony saw attendance from notable figures such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Finance Department, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club. His Excellency Dr Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Fujairah Equestrian Championships, was also present.
Salem Al Zahmi, Advisor to the Office of the Crown Prince, Fujairah, along with several local and international officials attended as well. Equestrian enthusiasts and Arabian horse lovers gathered to witness this prestigious event and join in the celebrations.
The championship continues to reinforce Fujairah's position as a leading destination for equestrian sports while promoting its cultural heritage through various engaging activities for attendees.
