Fujairah International Airport Celebrates Launch Of IndiGo’s Inaugural Flights To Mumbai And Kannur

Fujairah International Airport marked a significant achievement with the launch of IndiGo Airlines' first flights to Mumbai and Kannur. This new partnership aims to improve travel connections between Fujairah and major Indian cities, enhancing tourism and economic ties between the UAE and India.

The inaugural flight was celebrated with a ceremony attended by key figures such as Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul-General of India to Dubai; Mohamed Abdulla Al Salami, Chairman of the Fujairah Department of Civil Aviation; Capt. Esmaeil M. Al Boloushi, General Manager of Fujairah International Airport; Ebraheim Alqallaf, Deputy General Manager; and Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo. Senior officials from both government and private sectors were also present.

IndiGo Launches Flights from Fujairah to India

In his speech, Al Salami emphasised the strategic importance of this launch. He stated, "This event marks not just the launch of a new route, but the opening of strategic avenues of cooperation and collaboration between our two great nations." He highlighted how these routes would enhance tourism and business exchanges by showcasing Fujairah's natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Capt. Al Boloushi expressed satisfaction with IndiGo's new flights to Mumbai and Kannur. He said it represents a crucial step in improving direct travel links between Fujairah and India. He also noted that these routes offer travellers from Fujairah easy access to major Asian destinations through IndiGo’s growing network.

To make travel more convenient for passengers across the UAE, Fujairah International Airport has introduced a complimentary transportation service connecting all seven Emirates. This initiative aims to provide seamless access to the airport for travellers throughout the country.

Al Salami further pointed out that these new routes serve as a gateway for the Indian community, enriching tourism and business interactions. He added that "IndiGo’s commitment to affordable and quality travel resonates deeply with the needs of our community."

This development is expected to boost tourism significantly while promoting economic exchange between the two nations. The collaboration reflects a broader vision for strengthening bilateral ties through enhanced connectivity.
