Fujairah Equestrian Championships To Showcase Cultural Heritage From November 20-29, 2023
The Fujairah Equestrian Championships, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, will occur from 20th to 29th November. This event underscores the Emirate's dedication to preserving equestrian cultural heritage and enhancing its global reputation. It aligns with Fujairah’s vision of blending tradition with innovation through sports.
The championships are organised by the Higher Committee for the Fujairah Equestrian Championships at the Fujairah Fort Arena. The Emirate aims to broaden equestrian activities and support riders and horse owners locally and internationally. The event features a diverse programme, beginning with the Fujairah International Jumping Championship from 20th to 23rd November.

Following the jumping championship, the Fujairah Dressage Championship will take place on 24th November. The series concludes with the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship from 27th to 29th November. These events collectively highlight athletic excellence and showcase the timeless beauty of Arabian horses.
This year's edition introduces prestigious awards such as the Silver Khanjar Award, recognising UAE nationals' private stables for their efforts in preserving purebred Arabian horse lineages. Additionally, the Golden Sword Award will be presented to the most outstanding competitor, regardless of nationality or stable affiliation.
Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee for the championships, stated that this edition embodies H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi's vision to strengthen equestrianism as a cornerstone of Arab identity and cultural legacy. He noted that these championships have become one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.
Al Zeyoudi highlighted that these championships are not merely sporting events but comprehensive cultural endeavours reaffirming equestrianism as a civilisational value. He mentioned that they continue to grow in scope and quality each year, reflecting Fujairah’s rising status on the global equestrian stage.
Fujairah's Prominent Position
Ali Musbah Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, affirmed that hosting these championships highlights Fujairah’s prominent position in regional and international equestrian sectors. He added that this year’s edition is notable for its exceptional organisation, distinguished participants, and prestigious awards.
The event offers an integrated and enriching experience for both riders and enthusiasts alike. By supporting national talent and promoting excellence in this cultural tradition, Fujairah continues to enhance its standing in equestrianism globally while celebrating its rich heritage.
