Fujairah Crown Prince Highlights Cultural Institutions' Role In UAE's Development

In a recent gathering that underscored the pivotal role of cultural institutions in the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, expressed his admiration for the significant contributions these entities make towards enhancing the culture and arts sector. This commendation came during a meeting with Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, on the occasion of the fifth edition of the Fujairah International Piano Competition, an event orchestrated by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts.

The Crown Prince highlighted the keen interest of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, in the emirate’s cultural landscape. He pointed out that culture is seen as a vital component in societal development and in fostering human and social values that propel communities forward. This meeting served as a platform to delve into various cultural works, projects, and programmes that are in line with the UAE’s ambitious goals and its visionary leadership in this crucial sector.

Cultural Sector Key to UAE's Growth

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad praised the array of artistic activities and cultural programmes that not only elevate the country’s cultural profile but also enhance its standing on the global stage within the creative industry. The dialogue further extended to strategic policies, projects, and programmes aimed at enriching culture and creativity across the nation. This includes initiatives like the National Grant Programme for Culture and Creativity and various local and international culture and arts programmes spearheaded by creative centres throughout the emirates.

The Crown Prince also lauded the Ministry of Culture for its efforts in promoting cultural values, supporting the arts, and recognising creators and talents across all creative disciplines. He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination among all relevant institutions and centres to achieve excellence and desired outcomes in this field.

The meeting was attended by notable figures including Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and Mubarak Al Nakhli, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture. This gathering not only highlighted the UAE’s commitment to nurturing its cultural sector but also showcased its strategic approach towards leveraging culture as a key driver for societal development and international prestige.
