Fujairah Children's Book Fair Launches With Emphasis On Reading And Knowledge For Youth

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the crucial role of reading in shaping individual awareness and societal advancement. He highlighted the importance of promoting knowledge among children and youth to achieve progress. This was during his attendance at the second edition of the Fujairah Children’s Book Fair at Dibba Exhibition Centre, themed "One Community… Many Stories."

The Fujairah Government prioritises spreading knowledge and fostering a love for reading as a lifestyle. This aligns with H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi's directives to support cultural initiatives, recognising their role in enhancing individual awareness and supporting national vision.

Nasser Mohammed Al Yamahi, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee, stated: "This year, we were keen to expand participation by selecting 52 publishing houses from eight countries, including the United Kingdom, which is participating for the first time. We are offering a rich collection of books and activities that enrich the educational and cultural experience of children."

The exhibition features specialised workshops aimed at developing children's skills, nurturing imagination, and encouraging creative expression. The programme also includes literary events, workshops, and sessions with authors to further engage young minds.

Al Yamahi emphasised that creativity begins in childhood where talent is nurtured and future potential is shaped. He said: "We firmly believe that creativity is not limited to adults—it begins in childhood, where talent is nurtured, and the features of the future are shaped." These efforts aim to cultivate a generation equipped with knowledge and creativity.
