Fujairah's First Children's Book Fair Set To Inspire Young Readers This October
The Fujairah Culture and Media Authority (FCMA) has announced the first-ever Fujairah Children's Book Fair, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. Scheduled from 13th to 19th October at Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall in Fujairah, this event marks a significant milestone for the Emirate.
Nasser Muhammed Al Yamahi, Director-General of FCMA, highlighted the fair's importance in enhancing children's literary experiences. "The first of its kind in the literary history of the Emirate, the book fair is the culmination of the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, to create opportunities for children to broaden their literary knowledge and experience how technological advancements are changing the literary landscape. This vision has come to fruition with the enduring support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah."

Al Yamahi further explained that storytelling is evolving due to technology. "With rapid technological advancements, storytelling and literature are evolving, embracing tech-assisted and interactive formats. The book fair aims to provide children with the opportunity to explore diverse genres, expand their knowledge of world literature, and enhance their imagination, storytelling, writing, and literary skills."
The event will be organised by the Office of the Crown Prince and FCMA in collaboration with various educational and cultural institutions from both within the UAE and internationally. It will operate under the theme "Create the Future with Imagination," aiming to inspire young minds.
Publishers from several countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, and UAE will participate in this inaugural edition. The fair will be divided into four thematic zones: Imagination, Adventure, Creative, and Future.
In addition to showcasing books from these regions, there will be a comprehensive programme featuring 43 literary events. These include 34 workshops designed to engage young readers and over 10 sessions where authors will discuss their works.
This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering a love for reading among children while adapting to modern technological trends in literature. The fair promises an enriching experience for attendees by blending traditional storytelling with innovative formats.
