The report also highlights the diversity of freelance activities, with trade and retail leading at 38%, followed by industry at 13% and business services at 11%. Education levels among freelancers vary widely. Most freelancers hold bachelor degrees (62%), while high school graduates or less make up 31%, and those with higher degrees account for 7%. Technology plays a vital role in this ecosystem, with digital platforms becoming indispensable tools for freelancers, particularly in tech, information, and finance sectors. These platforms boost efficiency and communication, contributing to greater sustainability and success.

Geographically, Riyadh hosts the largest number of freelancers at 27%, followed by Makkah at 22% and the Eastern Region at 14%. The age group between 25-34 years is most active in freelancing, indicating a growing interest among young people in this work style. A promising trend highlighted in the report is that 3.2 million women have shown interest in joining the freelance market. This reflects successful initiatives aimed at enabling women to engage economically while balancing their professional and personal lives.

The contribution of freelancers to Saudi Arabia's GDP is noteworthy. In 2023, it reached SAR72.5 billion, accounting for 2% of the Kingdom's GDP.
