Free Style Car Show To Launch Liwa International Festival 2025 In Abu Dhabi
The Liwa International Festival 2025 is set to commence with its Free Style Car Show, marking the start of Abu Dhabi's premier winter event. Scheduled for tomorrow, this festival will unfold at the Moreeb Dune arena under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region.
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi alongside the Liwa Sports Club, this 23-day festival promises a rich mix of entertainment and cultural activities. The event will feature a blend of skill, challenge, and excitement, drawing participants and visitors from across the globe.

The Free Style Car Show will run from Friday for two days between 6:00 pm and midnight. It will feature over 130 cars from various categories. Drivers will demonstrate their skills through iconic moves like "Al-Okda," "Al-Khaba," and controlled drifts.
Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Liwa Sports Club, expressed enthusiasm about the event. He stated, "The Free Style Show is the perfect start to the Liwa International Festival, highlighting Moreeb Dune as a unique sports and tourism icon that attracts thousands of participants and visitors from around the world each year."
Al Qubaisi further elaborated on the festival's goals: "Through this festival, we aim to spotlight Al Dhafra as a comprehensive tourism and sports destination, offering a seamless blend of adventure sports and cultural activities." The Moreeb Dune Climb stands out as the grand finale of this extensive event.
The festival runs from 13th December 2024 to 4th January 2025. It includes diverse sports competitions such as car and bike races alongside traditional activities like camel racing and falconry. These events highlight both modern and traditional aspects of Emirati culture.

Al Qubaisi acknowledged H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan's significant support. He emphasised that ongoing backing from UAE leadership has elevated the festival into a platform that enhances the country's status as a global hub for cultural and tourism events.
This year's festival aims to showcase Al Dhafra as an all-encompassing destination for tourism and sports. By blending adventure sports with cultural experiences, it seeks to attract a diverse audience while promoting local traditions.
