Four Saudi Companies Sign Key Agreements To Develop Oil And Gas Fields In Syria

Four Saudi companies, under the guidance of the Ministry of Energy, have signed agreements with the Syrian Petroleum Company. These agreements involve TAQA, ADES Holding, Arabian Drilling, and ARGAS. They focus on services, technical support, and developing oil and gas fields in Syria. This collaboration strengthens the existing energy sector partnership between Saudi Arabia and Syria.

ADES Holding has entered into an agreement with the Syrian Petroleum Company to outline principles for developing gas fields. This includes operations and production strategies for fields like Abu Rabah and Qamqam. The agreement aims to boost production in these areas and others that may be added later.

Saudi Firms Sign Oil and Gas Agreements in Syria

TAQA's master service agreement with the Syrian Petroleum Company focuses on providing advanced solutions for constructing and maintaining oil and gas fields. The goal is to enhance operational efficiency using cutting-edge technology and equipment.

ARGAS has secured a master service agreement to offer 2D and 3D seismic surveying services in Syria. This will support exploration and drilling activities while establishing a long-term cooperation framework. The aim is to improve petroleum exploration efficiency within Syria's energy sector.

The agreement with Arabian Drilling involves providing drilling and workover services for oil and gas wells in Syria. It includes leasing and operating onshore rigs while offering workforce training to ensure effective operations.

Framework for Future Cooperation

The agreements are part of implementing memoranda of understanding previously signed between Saudi Arabia and Syria. They follow technical workshops and field visits to gas fields, enhancing bilateral cooperation in energy development.

"These agreements build on the ongoing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Syrian Arab Republic in the energy sector," stated a representative involved in the discussions.

The collaboration aims to ensure rapid response capabilities, operational flexibility, and efficient project initiation within Syria's energy landscape. These efforts are expected to significantly contribute to advancing Syria's petroleum exploration activities.
