Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2026 Opens A New Era Of Speed And Competition In Jeddah
The Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is set to return to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit from 17 to 19 April 2026, bringing Formula 1 back to what is described as the world’s fastest street track. The event forms part of a 2026 season that will run under new rules, aimed at reshaping the cars and racing.
Since joining the calendar in 2021, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit has built a reputation for extreme speed and constant commitment. Drivers reach an average of 252 km/h and spend around 79% of each lap at full throttle, while navigating 27 corners that run along the Red Sea coastline.

The 2026 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is expected to feature a fresh competitive order at the front. McLaren driver Lando Norris is due to arrive in Jeddah as the 2025 World Champion, after claiming a first title in a tense Abu Dhabi finale. Norris will be challenged by four-time champion Max Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri, who won the previous Jeddah Grand Prix.
New technical rules for 2026 will introduce smaller, lighter and more agile Formula 1 machinery, with a major impact on how drivers attack the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The grid will also expand to 11 teams, as Cadillac joins the championship and Audi prepares for an official full entry, which is expected to influence the competitive landscape.

The high-speed street layout is likely to underline driver skill under the revised Formula 1 regulations, as cars are expected to change direction faster through the 27 turns. Engineers will need to balance low drag for long flat-out sections with enough grip for the many sweeps, creating demanding set-up decisions for teams across the 11-strong field.
