The World Governments Summit and Fiker Institute are preparing governments and businesses for global shifts in 2026 through a new "Foreign Policy Toolkit". The publication analyses geopolitical and geoeconomic risks across key regions and offers structured guidance. It is designed as a practical reference for officials dealing with international policy decisions.

Drawing on Fiker Institute research and expert contributions, the Toolkit forecasts trends expected to shape security, politics, and the environment. It reviews possible future dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa, Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. The document focuses on cross-border impacts and how they might influence national and corporate strategies.

A central section addresses water security in the Middle East and North Africa, linking resource stress with political tensions. It notes weak regional mechanisms for sharing and managing transboundary water. The Toolkit points to the 2026 UN Water Conference, co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal, as a chance to prioritise water governance across MENA.

In the Asia-Pacific chapter, the Toolkit assesses opportunities and challenges around India’s BRICS presidency in 2026.
