Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Chairs High-Level Meeting On Two-State Solution Implementation
On Wednesday, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a significant meeting alongside the European Union and Norway. This High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution took place during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The gathering marked a year since launching this joint initiative.
Prince Faisal highlighted that the New York Declaration represents a historic international consensus to end occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state. He emphasised that statements must lead to real actions that change the current situation. "It is not enough to issue statements unless they are translated into real action that changes the reality of occupation and its aggression," he stated.

The meeting followed a Peace Summit co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, which resulted in widespread recognition of Palestine. This strengthened international support for Palestinian self-determination. Prince Faisal noted that occupation continues to escalate into severe violations, including attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites and Arab states' sovereignty.
He stressed that recent aggressions even targeted Qatar, highlighting ongoing regional tensions. The purpose of this meeting was to coordinate efforts, establish mechanisms for progress, and ensure accountability while continuing joint work in various capitals worldwide.
The New York Declaration affirms that Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are one indivisible Palestinian territory. Prince Faisal reiterated rejection of annexation attempts, settlement expansion, or forced displacement. He emphasised empowering the Palestinian Authority and supporting recovery plans.
He also called for establishing an international accountability mechanism with clear timelines. The Kingdom remains committed to leading diplomatic efforts for an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Path Towards Peace
Prince Faisal underscored Saudi Arabia's dedication to achieving lasting peace in the region. He stated that establishing an independent Palestinian state would pave the way for shared security and prosperity for all regional peoples. The Kingdom will continue its humanitarian efforts tirelessly towards this goal.
