For Gaza Campaign Launched To Support Over 20,000 Orphaned Children Affected By War
H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), stresses the importance of uniting communities to aid children affected by war. She believes this is not just a temporary act of kindness but an investment in humanity's future, showing that compassion can overcome destruction.
Sheikha Jawaher launched the "For Gaza" campaign with Palestine’s Tawoon Foundation during Ramadan. This initiative aims to support over 20,000 orphaned children in Gaza. It provides education, healthcare, nutrition, and shelter until they turn 18. The campaign responds to the severe humanitarian crisis these children face after losing their parents.

The campaign offers various donation options. Donors can contribute any amount or choose structured sponsorship packages. A $167 donation supports an orphan for a month, while $2,000 covers a year. A $10,000 contribution provides care for five years, and $20,000 secures ten years of support. Every donation helps extend essential care and protection to more orphans.
TBHF’s annual ‘Kiswat Eid’ initiative will focus on these orphans for the first time. During Eid Al Fitr, donors can sponsor Eid clothing for an orphan in Gaza with AED 200. TBHF ensures these donations reach the children through Al Faris Al-Shahim, providing them with clothing and shoes to celebrate Eid with dignity.
Donations can be made through several approved channels to ensure aid reaches the orphans directly. Contributions are accepted via bank transfers at Sharjah Islamic Bank account number 0011-430430-002, cheque payments to The Big Heart Foundation, cash donations at TBHF’s headquarters, SMS donations, and online contributions through TBHF’s designated campaign portal at https://tbhf.ae/ramadan-2025/. Companies interested in contributing can contact +971 50 535 0152 for support options.
The "For Gaza" campaign addresses critical issues faced by orphans in Gaza: food shortages, loss of shelter, chronic diseases, psychological trauma from losing parents and war horrors, lack of education, and limited access to medical and psychological care.
Collaboration with Tawoon Foundation
The partnership with Tawoon Foundation reflects TBHF’s commitment to sustainable aid. Tawoon's Noor Gaza Orphan Care Program collaborates with Bank of Palestine Group to provide continuous care from birth until age 18 under the motto: "In the darkest moments of their lives, be the light for Gaza’s orphans." With $7.1 million raised so far, it has aided over 11,000 orphans and aims to raise $377 million for long-term support.
Sheikha Jawaher stated that children enduring war horrors carry lasting scars. Their memories are filled with fear and loss of loved ones. She emphasised that material aid alone isn't enough; love and protection are crucial to counter traumatic memories and show them they aren't abandoned.
Call for Global Support
The staggering number of approximately 45,000 orphaned children in Gaza highlights the importance of this campaign. As of August 2024, 20,000 were registered as orphans due to war on Gaza; many fall under "Injured Child with No Surviving Family" (WCNSF). TBHF urges philanthropists and organizations worldwide to support this initiative.
"Children who endure the severe horrors and atrocities of war will carry lasting scars that may never fade," said H.H. Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi. "Their memories are weighed down by fear... This is where the world must step in—not only to provide material aid but to counter these traumatic memories with love..."
This collaboration ensures donations reach those in need through trusted organizations experienced in orphan care. By working with local partners like Tawoon Foundation, TBHF guarantees maximum impact by directing contributions towards programs offering safe environments, education, healthcare—helping children rebuild lives amidst Gaza's humanitarian crisis.
