Food Tech Valley Partners With Badia Farms To Launch Innovative Hybrid Farming Models For Sustainable Agriculture
Food Tech Valley, a UAE initiative focused on sustainable food systems, has entered a 27-year strategic partnership with Badia Farms. This collaboration aims to implement hybrid farming models for premium fruit and vegetable production throughout the year. The agreement was formalised by Rashed Mohammad of Wasl and Omar Al Jundi of Badia Farms, supported by Gulf Islamic Investments.
Badia Farms will utilise a 236,000 sq. ft. area to employ both vertical and horizontal farming techniques. These methods are designed to be sustainable, using 90% less water than traditional farming practices and relying on clean energy sources. The produce is cultivated in pesticide-free indoor environments, ensuring high-quality, nutritious products.

The partnership aligns with the UAE's ambitious food security goals. Rashed Mohammad expressed that this collaboration is crucial for fostering innovation and sustainability in agriculture at Food Tech Valley. By embracing advanced technologies and working with industry leaders like Badia Farms, they aim to build a resilient food ecosystem beneficial for future generations.
Omar Al Jundi highlighted the importance of this partnership in advancing food security. He stated, "We are proud to be among Food Tech Valley’s partners in advancing food security. Through our expertise in hydroponic farming, Badia Farms will continue to provide fresh, nutritious produce safely and sustainably."
This collaboration represents a significant step towards achieving the UAE's vision for an innovative and sustainable food ecosystem. Food Tech Valley focuses on cutting-edge technologies and collaborative projects to enhance food security by attracting industry leaders.
The UAE aims to meet increasing demand while reducing dependence on imports through such partnerships. These efforts are part of the National Food Security Strategy 2051, which outlines ambitious goals for the nation's future food security.
