Flynas To Boost UAE Presence With New Routes In September 2024
In a significant move to enhance air travel connectivity, flynas, the renowned Saudi budget carrier, announced its ambitious expansion plans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This strategic decision was revealed during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) event held on Monday. Starting from September 2024, flynas aims to broaden its operational footprint beyond its current flights to Dubai International (DXB), by including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Maktoum International (DWC) within its extensive network.
The expansion signifies a notable increase in the travel options available between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, elevating the total number of routes to nine. Moreover, this development will see flight frequencies soar to more than 20 daily flights, marking a substantial uplift in air travel connectivity between the two nations. Bander Almohanna, Managing Director and CEO of flynas, expressed enthusiasm about this growth, highlighting it as a reflection of NAS Airlines' dedication to its expansion plan under the slogan ‘Connecting the World to the Kingdom’.

flynas has been at the forefront of connecting over 70 domestic and international destinations, operating more than 1,500 weekly flights across its network. Since its inception in 2007, the airline has successfully transported over 78 million passengers. With an eye on future growth, flynas is now setting its sights on expanding its reach to 165 destinations globally, both domestically and internationally. This ambitious expansion underscores flynas's commitment to enhancing air connectivity and facilitating travel for millions more in the coming years.
The announcement from flynas comes at a time when air travel demand is witnessing a significant rebound post-pandemic. The airline's strategic move to include key UAE destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Maktoum International (DWC) is poised to cater to the growing travel needs of passengers between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. This expansion not only strengthens bilateral ties but also opens up new avenues for tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
As flynas continues to navigate through its growth trajectory, this expansion plan plays a crucial role in its mission to connect the world to the Kingdom. By increasing flight frequencies and route options, flynas is set to offer more flexibility and convenience to passengers traveling between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. This development is a testament to flynas's ongoing efforts to enhance its service offerings and solidify its position as a leading budget carrier in the region.
